Mitochondrial Haplogroup W

The lineage is thought to arisen around sometime between 16,000 and 20,000 years ago probably somewhere in the Caucasus. It is found throughout Eurasia, where the highest frequencies exist in Finland (9%), Hungary (5%), Latvia (4%), Macedonia (4%), Belarus (3.5%), Pakistan (8%), Tajikistan (6%), India (5%) and Iranians (3.5%).
