Mitochondrial Haplogroup T

Mitochondrial haplogroup T is thought to have originated around 29,000 years ago, probably in the East Mediterranean region. It is found throughout Europe, the Middle East and North Africa. Ancient DNA analyses of Mesolithic hunter-gatherers from Russia and Sweden indicate that the haplogroup was present in Europe prior to the expansion of farmers and herders during the Neolithic.
